Christmas is quickly approaching and we are preparing for many exciting celebrations with family and youth here at Oesterlen!
To assist with the Christmas merriment, Oesterlen is introducing the inaugural Christmas Wish List, hand-picked items from youth in our Residential, Service Coordination, Intensive Home Based Treatment and Respite Center. These gifts are all priced between $15-$20 and we invited our local churches to “adopt” one child, a few children or an entire cottage this Christmas. We are excited at the outpouring of support from the local churches, however there is still more work to be done! Please visit the list as we have it on this website: Christmas Wish List. Oesterlen is also inviting church groups, families and youth groups to visit campus starting on December 12 to help us wrap all of these gifts! If you or any group you are affiliated with might be interested might be interested in volunteering some time to this activity, please contact us and we will schedule a convenient time for you! We have morning, afternoon and weekend dates available!
Finally, if you are local to Springfield, or have friends and family in the area looking for unique Christmas opportunities, please consider visiting the Alternative Christmas Market at Covenant Presbyterian on December 8 from 11:30am-1:30pm. At this annual event you will be able to make a monetary gift to more than 10 local Springfield charities, including Oesterlen! Oesterlen will have a table set up and is looking forward to sharing our mission and ministry with all in attendance. This year they are accepting credit card gifts. (As always, you can make gifts directly to Oesterlen at any time!)
