For Oesterlen clients ages 3-18, Male and Female (preferred items are in bold)
Gift Cards: $5.00 – $20.00; Kroger, Walmart, Meijer, Hobby Lobby, McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Burger King, Pizza (Donato’s, Domino’s, Little Caesar’s, Pizza Hut), Home Depot, Lowe’s, Rural King, Tractor Supply, Gas Cards. (Gift cards are used for rewards, parties, teaching proper public behavior, and for supplies for Life Skills Center programming.)
Art Supplies: sketch pads; acrylic paint (colors – white, blue, red, yellow); paint brushes (various sizes); colorful yarn; sidewalk chalk; drawing paper; craft kits; colored pencils; permanent and non-permanent markers; construction paper; journals/diaries (from dollar store); play-doh (non-toxic); poster board; water, fabric, and glitter paints; paint-by-number sets; Elmer’s Tack Adhesive Putty; white school glue; assorted buttons, feathers, sequins and glitter; model car kits; stencils; stickers.
Candy (individually wrapped, no gum please)
Clear Plastic Storage Tubs w/lids (such as Sterilite or Rubbermaid); Large, Medium, Small. (Tubs need to be clear for safety reasons.)
Clothing: underwear (male and female, boxer briefs are preferred for males, size Youth Large to Adult XL); sweatpants and sweatshirts (size Adult Small to XL, Medium is most often needed); sports bras (without metal, various sizes, Medium is most often needed); t-shirts (size Adult Small to 5 XL, non-shrinking, plain with no writing or emblems); socks/no show socks (male and female).
Life Skills Center Programming: tape measurers, packs of sandpaper (80, 100, 120, 220 grit); safety glasses; woodworking compasses; painters tape, newspaper; Titebond II or III wood glue; scroll saw blades; garden supplies; hand tools; rubber boots/shoes (various sizes).
Recreational Items: decks of playing cards; card games (such as Uno or Skip-Bo); board games; coloring books (adult and youth); word search/activity books; small “grab bag” toys (such as small balls, plastic animals, flexible tubes, yo-yo’s; used as sensory items and rewards for youth); Match Box type cars; chess sets; basketballs; footballs; playground balls; volleyballs; soccer balls; Frisbees; pumps for balls; inexpensive portable MP3 players/radios/speakers.
School Supplies: college lined notebook filler paper; pocket folders (without metal clips); single subject lined notebooks (without spiral wire); glue sticks; pens; #2 pencils (without metal tops); rulers; protractors; compasses; copy printer paper.
Toiletries: bath towels; washcloths; combs/brushes; stick deodorant (2.6 oz. or larger – such as Axe or Dove brand or gender neutral); Ethnic hair care products (such as Shea Moisture, Mixed Chicks, Suave’s For Us); toothbrushes and toothpaste; body lotions (aloe, cocoa butter or bath and body type for special treats).
