A mental illness is a condition that affects a person’s thinking, feeling, and/or mood. Mental health conditions may affect the individual’s ability to relate to others and function each day.

On July 16, the U.S. transitioned to 988, an easy-to-remember three-digit dialing code that will route callers to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. Individuals can call or text 988 or select the chat option at 988lifeline.org to be connected to free and confidential crisis support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, across the United States.

For more information and resources, please visit 988lifeline.org.
